No way! That's not what nature intended us to eat. Just go to the garden, pick all the things that nature grows (fruits, vegetables, g rains, legumes, beans) and figure it out. Generally they are high complex carbohydrate, low fat, low protein. Complex carbohydrates break down to glycogen which is the fuel for the brain and the muscles.
NUPLUS contains 10 grams of complex carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are completely used up after approximately four hours (everybody is obviously a little different). This is why drinking Nuplus three times a day really makes the difference. When it is gone, it is gone, and we need more of that fuel for energy to the brain and body.
A healthy blood sugar balance makes a difference in energy level. When that 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock slump hits, it is a sign that a blood sugar imbalance is running rampant. Low energy, dizziness, and blurred thinking ca be signs. The Coix fruit, Chinese Yam and the foods that include the five tastes (salty, sweet, spicy, pungent, sour) in the NUPLUS help the body regulate the metabolism, nourish the pancreas, and keep the energy at en even keel.
You need adequate protein intake to build and repair muscles, but most active Americans, including vegetarians, get more than enough of it. Much of the protein you use daily is reusable by the body, but the complex carbohydrates need to be fully replaced as they are used by the body. Excess protein is simply broken down in the body and burned for energy or turned into fat. Proteins are constantly being broken in our bodies. Most of the amino acids are re-used, but we must regularly replace those that are lost.
Government surveys show that the average American man under age 65 consumes 90-100 grams of protein per day and the average woman, 65 to 70 grams - about 50% more than the RDA.
As your protein intake rises, so does the amount of calcium excreted in the urine. If you eat lots of protein, the calcium loss may affect the density of your bones, thus hastening osteoporosis (bone thinning). Excess protein also creates stress on the kidneys and liver.
